Decision Status: Completed
LOINC International uses inconsistent capitalization in the Long Common name.
We believe that the LOINC convention is to capitalize the beginning of each LOINC part name that make of the LCN, but not each word in the part name. Consequently, you get inconsistent capitalization. There are some exemptions, such as 96353-8 Wound care management procedure note and 78315-9 Family medicine procedure note.
Title case looks better and easier to read
Eleven out of eleven votes of a type 5 in favor of title case capitalization for all Canadian ontology display names.
Use title case for display names of LOINC concepts. Example: Orthopaedic Surgery Diagnostic Study Note.
